Technology reviews & practical guides
Designs.ai by Pixlr is now an AI agent suite priced in expiring monthly credits. We cover the Go, Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans, the top-up packs, the license that bars trademarking your logo, and the auto-renewal fine print.

Designs.ai is not the Logomaker, Videomaker and Designmaker toolkit many people remember. In 2026 it relaunched as "Your AI creative team, on demand": you write one brief, and specialist agents plan the work and route it to third-party models such as Claude, GPT, NanoBanana, ElevenLabs, Grok, Veo, Seedance, Seedream and MiniMax.
The pricing changed with it. There are now four paid tiers, starting with a $9.90 Go plan. Everything runs on monthly credits that expire, and paid top-up packs were added in April 2026. The Terms and License were rewritten on 13 May 2026. This review covers what each plan buys, what the license actually lets you do with a logo, and the billing fine print behind the site's 1.4/5 Trustpilot score.
Designs.ai launched in December 2019 as one of three products from Inmagine, the Malaysia-founded parent of 123RF. In November 2023, Pixlr, Designs.ai and Vectr were combined into Pixlr Group. The site footer now reads "Designs.ai by Pixlr", and the contracting party in the Terms is Pixlr Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, under Singapore law with SIAC arbitration.
The product itself is now built around a multi-agent router. You type a brief, and the router picks a specialist (Branding, Image, Video, Deep Reasoning, Video Motion, Audio or Slides) or you choose one yourself. The homepage puts it this way: "Brief Designs.ai once. Specialist agents handle the planning, pick the right models…"

The old tools have been folded in. /logomaker now redirects to the Branding tool, /videomaker to Video, /designmaker to Image and /speechmaker to Audio. Font Pairer, Color Matcher, Graphicmaker and the social Calendar now land on the homepage, so they appear to be discontinued. A banner in the app still offers a link to the "classic Designs.ai" for the old makers, and a second banner warns that "Creative Mode retires", with no date shown.

Most of the generation is done by other companies' models. What Designs.ai adds is orchestration: one brief, one workspace, one bill. Whether that's worth it depends on whether you'd otherwise pay for several of those models separately.
Branding is the most distinctive tool. Paste your site's address and it extracts colours and type into a brand kit, then applies it to mockups such as a phone screen, business card and slides. It's a quick way to get a consistent look for social posts and decks. Read the license section before you treat the logo as your trademark, though.

The pricing page renders in the browser, so the figures below come from the vendor's own pricing API that feeds it (checked 26 October 2026, USD):
A yearly plan is one charge for 12 months. By our own arithmetic that works out to about $8.25 a month for Go, $24.92 for Plus, $58.25 for Pro and $532.50 for Enterprise. Plus is the plan where yearly billing saves the most in relative terms: $299 against $468 for twelve monthly payments.
Plus is 50% off: $19.50 for the first month of a monthly plan, or $149.50 for the first year of a yearly plan. Under the Terms, a discounted subscription can renew "automatically and without further notice at the full applicable Fee" - $39 a month or $299 a year.
Since April 2026 active subscribers can buy extra credits: Starter Top-Up 2,500 credits for $30, Growth Top-Up 5,000 for $50 and Power Top-Up 10,000 for $80. "Extra credits are available for active subscribers only", so the Free tier can't top up. Pro's monthly allowance (10,000 credits for $79) costs less per credit than any pack, so heavy users are better off upgrading than topping up.
None of the paid plans currently has a trial. The Free tier is the way to test it: the pricing FAQ says you "can start creating immediately on the free tier". Designs.ai doesn't clearly state how many credits Free includes, so expect a small allowance.
Older pricing data still lists some legacy perks: monthly 123RF premium images (10 on Plus, 20 on Pro), 10 Getty Images premium videos on Pro, full branding and social media kits on Pro and Enterprise, and commercial audio use from Plus upward (Free and Go are personal use). That table predates the redesign, so confirm in your account before relying on it.
Everything you generate costs credits, but Designs.ai doesn't publish a per-action credit table. You can't tell before buying how many logos, images or seconds of video 500 or 2,500 credits will cover. The cost likely depends on which model the router picks.
The Terms are strict on expiry: "Any unused Credits at the end of the relevant month shall automatically expire and will not roll over, accumulate, or be carried forward to any subsequent month." No refund or replacement is given for expired credits. That holds on yearly plans too, because credits are still issued monthly.
Purchased top-up credits last longer. The Terms say they are "valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase" and are non-refundable. A note on the pricing page says instead that unused top-up credits expire at the end of your annual subscription term. If the difference matters to you, go by the Terms and ask support before buying a large pack.

This is the part that matters most for a branding tool. The License says: "No ownership or copyrights to the End Product are granted to You." You get a license to use the output. You don't own it.

Commercial use is allowed. The Standard License on Plus and Pro lets you use the service "for both commercial and non-commercial purposes", and the pricing FAQ confirms commercial use. The indemnity does less than the plan cards suggest, though. Both the Standard (US$5,000) and Enterprise (US$25,000) appendices say "Clause 15 of this Agreement shall not apply to your use of any AI features of the services", which means the indemnity doesn't cover AI-generated output - the main thing people use Designs.ai for.
Use a tool or a designer whose terms transfer ownership. We compare the terms of Brandmark and Logomaster.ai in our Brandmark review and Logomaster AI review.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and promotional prices renew at the full fee without further notice. To cancel, go to "Account" and follow the instructions there. Cancel before the renewal date, because the Terms say the company won't reimburse fees already paid.
Refunds are discretionary. If you think you were charged in error, you can write to [email protected], and eligibility is "assessed by Us based on a number of factors". The pricing page also states: "Purchased credits are non-refundable."
There is no public help centre (support.designs.ai and help.designs.ai return 404). Support is by email and in-app chat, with priority support on higher plans and 24/7 dedicated support plus an account manager on Enterprise.
On 26 October 2026 Designs.ai had a Trustpilot TrustScore of 1.4/5 from 68 reviews. The split is polarised: 52% one-star and 40% five-star. TrustScore gives recent reviews more weight, and most of the five-star reviews are older.
The pattern is about billing and account control, not output quality. Set a calendar reminder before each renewal, and if you sign up at the promo price, budget for the full price.
It suits small teams and marketers who want image, video, slide and voice work from many models in one workspace, and who are happy with a licence to use the output instead of owning it. Pro, with 10,000 credits and 5 seats, is the most sensible plan for regular production. Go is a cheap way to see whether the credit burn matches your workload.
It is a poor fit if you need a logo you can register, output you can own outright, or AI output covered by an indemnity. It is also risky if you're likely to forget a renewal. For one-off logo work, a pay-once tool with an ownership transfer is the safer buy. See our Brandmark review, Logomaster AI review and Designify review for alternatives.
Paid plans are $9.90 (Go), $39 (Plus), $79 (Pro) and $639 (Enterprise) a month, or $99, $299, $699 and $6,390 a year. There is also a Free tier, and Plus is currently 50% off for the first month or year.
No. No paid plan has a trial. You can test the tools on the Free tier and upgrade at any time.
No. Monthly plan credits expire at the end of each month and aren't refunded. Top-up credits last up to a year, though the Terms and the pricing page describe their expiry differently.
No. The License prohibits registering output as a trademark and grants you no ownership or copyright in it. You can still use the logo commercially under the Standard License.
Only at the company's discretion. Write to [email protected] if you think you were charged in error. Purchased credits are non-refundable, and fees already paid aren't reimbursed after you cancel.
Go to Account in the app and follow the cancellation steps before your renewal date. Plans renew automatically, and promotional prices renew at the full fee.
