Genspark review for November 2026: what Plus ($24.99) and Pro ($249.99) buy, how credits burn, the new Media Studio, the 2027 chat caps and the 72-hour refund window.

Genspark started as an AI search engine with a "Super Agent" and has grown into one of the widest AI workspaces on the market: slides, sheets, docs, design, an AI that places phone calls for you, a cloud-computer agent called Claw and, since October 27, 2026, a full video production suite called Media Studio. It is built by MainFunc Inc., a Palo Alto company that told the press in July 2026 it had reached $250 million in annual recurring revenue within 12 months of launch.
This review works from Genspark's own help center (membership, credits, AI Chat, Call For Me and Media Studio pages, updated between September and October 2026), its Terms and Privacy Policy, and launch coverage. The short version: the breadth is real, but everything runs on credits that do not roll over, the "unlimited" chat perk for older subscribers ends on December 31, 2026, there is no free trial, and outside the EU, UK, Turkey and Korea you get only 72 hours to ask for a refund.
Genspark now calls itself an "All-in-One AI Workspace". The help center lists more than 30 products, from Super Agent, AI Slides, AI Sheets, AI Docs and AI Chat to Call For Me, Genspark Claw, Genspark Design, SecondBrain, GenMail, AI Meeting Notes, a Chrome extension, a Microsoft Office plugin and Media Studio.
The common thread is the Super Agent: you describe an outcome and it plans the steps, browses, writes files and hands back a deck, a sheet, a document or a video. The individual apps are the same engine pointed at one kind of output, with an editor on top so you can fix what the agent produced.
Under the hood Genspark routes work to models from other labs. AI Chat lists 40+ models plus a Mixture-of-Agents option, and the Privacy Policy says queries may be sent to the OpenAI or Anthropic API. The one notable in-house piece is Gen-1, a slide model covered below.
Genspark is operated by MainFunc Inc., with Genspark Inc. as a wholly owned subsidiary, according to its Terms (updated April 2, 2026). The co-founders are Eric Jing (CEO) and Kay Zhu (CTO). In March 2026 it raised a $385 million Series B at about a $1.6 billion valuation, and a $100 million extension in June 2026 took the round to $485 million at a reported $2.6 billion post-money valuation.
All prices are in USD, from Genspark's membership page (updated October 20, 2026), which says the benefits described are valid through June 30, 2027.
Annual billing saves about 20%, but the credits are still issued monthly, so paying yearly does not give you a bigger pot to spend in a busy month. Plus and Pro both come in higher credit tiers above the base 10,000 and 125,000 credits; the help center confirms they exist but does not list their prices.
If you see Pro quoted at $200 a month elsewhere, that is the annual-billing equivalent, not the monthly price. There is no free trial of Plus or Pro anywhere in the help center or Terms - the Free plan is the only way to try Genspark without paying.
Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by the store, not by Genspark, so the refund windows later in this review do not apply to them.
Genspark's credits guide (updated October 14, 2026) says credits "measure computational effort". The cost of a task depends on the model tier (Standard or Ultra), text length, image resolution, video duration, audio length, the number of outputs and task complexity. There is no fixed rate card; Genspark tells users to check the live pricing inside the product because model lineups and prices change frequently.
The only fixed price we found is Call For Me: a flat 500 credits per connected call. Per-task figures circulating in reviews and forums, such as the cost of a slide deck or a video, are user reports, not official numbers.
Plus and Pro include a Free Quota: a weekly balance for text and image tasks in Standard mode across Super Agent, AI Slides, AI Sheets, AI Docs, Deep Research, Fact Check and SecondBrain, at no credit cost. Pro gets 10x the Plus balance. Genspark does not publish the actual size of either balance, so you only learn how far it goes by using it.
Team workspaces can buy On-Demand Credits in 10,000-credit packs at $45 per pack, valid for three months. The credits guide mentions top-up credits for individual plans too, but the membership page lists no individual top-up price.
Genspark changed its pricing on September 18, 2026. Subscribers who joined before that date keep unlimited AI Chat and AI Image usage through December 31, 2026. From January 1, 2027, core models are included only up to a cap and flagship models use credits.
AI Chat also has a fair-use limit on paid plans that sits outside your credit balance: a session limit over a fixed 5-hour window. Buying more credits does not lift it. On the Free plan, Claude Haiku 4.5 is the default chat model.
If you are reading older reviews that sell Genspark on "unlimited" chat with top models, that pitch no longer applies to new subscribers and stops applying to existing ones at the end of this year. Genspark's Team page still describes unlimited chat for every seat, but its newer AI Chat page (October 20, 2026) limits it to seats active before September 18 - we would plan around the newer page.
The Super Agent was rebuilt in September 2026. Each task now runs in a dedicated sandbox with a real browser, its own filesystem and code execution, and any workflow can be saved as a reusable skill. Sandbox storage is up to 500 MB on the Free plan and 1 GB on paid plans.
AI Slides is the app most people arrive for, and it has a proper editor: select, draw and edit tools, plus Verify content, Fix Layout and Polish Content actions that re-run the agent on part of a deck. Standard mode runs Gen-1, Genspark's first in-house model, built for slides. Gen-1 is post-trained from MiniMax M3, an open-weight model, but Gen-1 itself is not open-weight. Ultra mode still runs frontier models from other labs and costs more.

Genspark Design starts from a "What would you like to design?" prompt with popular task templates and a gallery of your past designs. AI Sheets and AI Docs follow the same pattern for spreadsheets and documents, and all three draw on the weekly Free Quota in Standard mode on Plus and Pro.

Call For Me has the AI place real phone calls - booking, asking about availability and similar errands - over Genspark's lines rather than your phone bill. Each connected call costs a flat 500 credits and unconnected calls are refunded. You can make up to 4 connected calls to the same number in a rolling 24 hours, and a number that has received 6 connected calls from any Genspark user in 24 hours cannot be called again that day.
Genspark Claw is an agent that runs on a Genspark Cloud Computer, offered in Lite (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage), Standard (2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 64 GB storage) and Powerful (4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, 128 GB storage) sizes. Their prices are not published on the membership page.
Genspark announced a global partnership with Microsoft on April 29, 2026 to bring its agents into Microsoft 365 as plug-ins, and the help center lists a Microsoft Office plugin and a Salesforce integration. We found no documented public developer API, so do not plan on scripting Genspark from your own code.
Media Studio launched on October 27, 2026 and brings image, video, audio and 3D creation into one place. You pick a mode (General, Video, Image, Audio or 3D), and results appear as nodes on a board, with a layer editor for images, a multitrack timeline for video and a director stage for 3D.
According to Impress Watch's launch coverage, it can take a single text prompt through script, storyboard, footage, audio, editing and subtitles, mixing Claude, GPT and Gemini with Seedance, Nano Banana and ElevenLabs depending on the step. A "Story Bible" keeps characters' faces, outfits and voices consistent across shots, and you approve the script before any video is generated.

Paid users got 50% off Media Studio credit consumption as a launch promotion running until November 4, 2026 at 19:00 Japan time. Budget at full rates after that. Video is where a 10,000-credit Plus allowance will run out first.

Team is self-serve for groups of 2 to 150 people. You cannot drop below 2 seats, and every admin counts as a paid seat. Each seat gets 10,000 credits a month that are allocated individually, reset each billing cycle and do not roll over, plus 60 GB of AI Drive. Payment is by credit card only, through Stripe.
Team and Enterprise are automatically opted out of model training, and Genspark says its SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 badges are public on its Trust Center. Enterprise starts at 20,000 credits per seat with no seat minimum; pricing is by quote. Mega mode in Media Studio is off for Team and Enterprise unless an admin enables it.
The Terms are governed by California law with binding arbitration, and they say that if Genspark suspends or terminates your account you may not be entitled to a refund of unused prepaid fees. Sharing account credentials and reselling access are prohibited.
Refund rules are the biggest buyer risk, because there is no trial to lean on.
Cancelling keeps the plan active until the end of the billing period, and unused credits from that period are not refunded. If a payment is past due, cancellation takes effect immediately. An annual Pro plan at $2,399.99 with a 72-hour window is a commitment worth testing on Plus monthly first.
Trustpilot shows no TrustScore for Genspark at the moment. When we checked on November 2, 2026, the page said the score was withheld due to a breach of its guidelines and that a number of fake reviews had been removed, leaving 482 reviews. Ignore star ratings quoted in older blog posts.
The written reviews split along predictable lines. A 4-star review from October 28 praises the output but warns that "this can consume lots of credits, if you are not careful". A 1-star review from October 16 says "Their return policy is also terrible", to which Genspark replied that its refund window runs from the charge and depends on region.
The iOS app, Genspark AI Workspace, is a free download rated 4.7 stars from 4,398 ratings on the US App Store, with version 3.1.5 released on October 27, 2026. That gap between app ratings and billing complaints is typical: the product impresses, the credit model frustrates.

Genspark is worth paying for if you regularly turn research into decks, docs or sheets and want one agent to do the first draft. On Plus, most of that work runs on the weekly Free Quota in Standard mode, so the 10,000 credits are left for Ultra mode, calls and the occasional video. At $24.99 a month that is a fair price for the breadth, though monthly billing makes sense until you know your usage.
Pro at $249.99 a month only makes sense for heavy Media Studio or agent use, where 125,000 credits and a 10x Free Quota pay off. Teams get the training opt-out and compliance badges that consumer plans lack.
Skip it, or stay on Free, if you need predictable monthly costs, a long refund window, a public API, or if you joined for unlimited chat - that ends for everyone on December 31, 2026.
Plus is $24.99 a month or $239.99 a year, and Pro is $249.99 a month or $2,399.99 a year. Team is $40 per seat per month ($35 billed annually) with a 2-seat minimum, and Enterprise is priced by quote. Higher credit tiers of Plus and Pro exist but their prices are not published in the help center.
No. Genspark does not offer a trial of its paid plans. The Free plan gives 100 credits a day until an unpublished lifetime allowance runs out, after which the daily refill stops.
No. Monthly plan credits reset each billing period, even on annual plans, which are issued credits month by month. Separately purchased top-up credits are the exception: they last 3 months and carry across cycles.
Not for new subscribers. People subscribed before September 18, 2026 keep unlimited AI Chat and AI Image until December 31, 2026. From January 1, 2027 core models are capped and flagship models use credits, and paid plans also have a 5-hour session limit that buying credits does not lift.
Yes, but the window is short: 72 hours in most countries, 7 days in Korea and 14 days in the EU, UK and Turkey. You must have used less than 50% of the plan or quota, and Genspark grants only one refund per customer. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded by the store.
Team and Enterprise plans are automatically opted out of model training. For Free, Plus and Pro, Genspark's policies do not clearly say, so check the AI Data Retention setting under Settings > Data Controls. Queries may be sent to OpenAI or Anthropic, and data is stored on Microsoft Azure.
It depends on the model, resolution, duration and number of outputs, and Media Studio shows an estimate before you press Run. Planning and images use the weekly Free Quota, while video, audio and 3D always use credits. Failed generations are refunded, but successful ones are charged even if you discard them.
We found no documented public developer API. Genspark connects to other tools through a Microsoft Office plugin, Microsoft 365 plug-ins announced in April 2026, a Salesforce integration and a Chrome extension.
